And I’m really really excited about my new releases today!!  Crystal and I are thrilled to bring you the second installment in our Grow with Love series.  Meet Grow With Love: Kids Edition.  20 fabulous templates, 20 fabulous journaling prompts.  Grow With Love began with our Marriage Edition this summer and it was borne out of our love for storytelling through out scrapping.  We were inspired by deep reflection of our own loves and relationships to create a series of templates and journaling prompts that we hope will inspire you to share your own stories and create beautiful pages from the heart that you will love. But more than that, we hope, through the process of scrapping and reflecting and writing, the project will have a more tangible effect in our real lives.

This version is (obviously, right? lol) about our children.  And parenthood.  We are SO excited to share it with you all!

Sgleasonclivesay_gwlkids_preview

As before Crystal and I will working these prompts with you and expounding on them, diving in a little deeper, giving a few more examples on our blogs. twice a week.  We hope that you will feel inspired and we hope that we will be doing “more” than scrapping together…we hope that we will be growing together. we will be working through the project with you all on our blogs.  It all starts here on Monday.  Yay!!

{arrived} Ribbit Ribbit

SO….the cat is out of the bag.  Or the frog, as it were.  I’m so happy to announce that my new home, my beautiful, inspiring, fun fun fun, storytelling and scrapping, full-to-the-brim-with-talent, home is: The Lilypad!  How it’s possible is still beyond me, but I’m humbled and grateful and SO gooped up on the gop.

Thank you everyone for your support and warm wishes and all the guesses!!  It was so fun to read through all of the posts!  Some of you are super sleuthy and were spot on with your froggy guesses — 14 of you to be exact.  Of those 14 who guessed The Lilypad, I want to say congratulations to these two, who have won any 3 products of their choice (except collabs).

Lisa (dlhoffer) and Davita

Congratulations!! Please send me an email at zinniasandswallowtailsATgmailDOTcom and we will get you set up for some superfun shopping on Saturday.

Thank you so much everyone for playing along!  More than that, thanks for all the support!  I can’t wait to share everything that is on the horizon.  It all starts today with my BYOC templates and really gets fun tomorrow for DSD.  Woot!

{free seeds} home is where the heart is

Six weeks ago I was feeling reflective and nostalgic for the beach, tearfully saying goodbyes as we headed West to our new home here in the desert.  And now, here we are, finally settled in and starting to venture back into normalcy again.  At the same time, we are focusing on doing all the things that make a house a home: decorating, meeting new friends, continuing traditions and soaking up lots of family time.  As I was feeling a little pang for “home” in Florida the other day, I was reminded afresh how “home” really (and truly) is where your heart is.  And it is what we make of it.  Love, and home, as it were, begins and ends with family.  And so, I find myself feeling blessed to be home.

Speaking of “home”…I am so grateful for my time at After Five Designs and the opportunity to have worked with the women and talent there, but I have some really exciting news I can’t wait to share with you.  As of Friday 5 November, I will be “repotting” Zinnias and Swallowtails — settling in and planting roots at a new “home”…my creative home.

Blooming-soon115

Think you might know to where I may be “repotting”? planting roots? calling my “home”?  Post your guesses in the comments section before 10pm PST tonight.  Two lucky winners will win 3 products of their choice (except for collabs).

But wait! There’s more!  In honor of perspective and blessings and settling in to home, I hope you’ll enjoy this freebie today!

Sgleason_home_preview

And if it strikes your fancy, feel free to snag this little wee bonus freebie too, inspired by making home where your heart is.

Sgleason_home_two_preview

And this is just the beginning of the fun!  In addition to my big debut tomorrow (Friday), I have so many fabulous goodies to share with you this weekend, including several collaboration projects, a sale!, some Twitter giveaways, and a blog hop freebie (yes another one), so be sure to connect with me on Facebook and Twitter and sign up for my newsletter, if you haven’t already.

I hope that everyone has been well!  Can’t wait to see your guesses!

{heartsong} revisited

As some of you may know, our family has called the Gulf Coast "home" for
many years now.  And we love it so. It
is beautiful. It is vibrant. Tomorrow we drive away and head to westward for a fresh adventure.  But we will think of this coast home so fondly.  And we will remember how We took our daughter to the beach, we will remember the sound of the waves crashing on the sugar white sands, the smell
of the air. How we would see dolphins at play, view all manner of beautiful
sea birds and sea life. We
have enjoyed the shade of the majestic live oak trees, we have
appreciated the vitality and beauty of the wetlands. We get to enjoy
the people who live here. They are warm and genuine and kind and
totally full of life.

Gulfreliefinspirationmosaic

And I remember with a fresh ache, when the Deepwater Horizon disaster happened on April 20, we could not have imagined the heartsickness that would follow.  For
more than 90 days, oil gushed into the Gulf of Mexico before the leak
was finally "capped" in late July.  It is estimated that approximately
4.9 million barrels (or 205.8 million gallons) of oil spilled into the
waters.  It has been one of the biggest environmental disasters in
decades.   Hundreds of miles of beaches, wetlands, and estuaries along
the northern Gulf Coast have been impacted.  The spill, though
temporarily "capped", continues to cause extensive damage to marine and
wildlife habitats as well as the Gulf's fishing and tourism industries.
Families are without work and marine and land animals continue to
suffer.  And there are still many unknowns about the long term effects
of the oil and of chemical disbursements used in attempts to curtail the
flow and impact upon the regional coastline and waters.

Gulfreliefinspirationmosaic2

In the face of this uncertainty, this loss, this "stain", I just ached.  And I felt it on my heart to try to do something, any
some small something to try to help raise awareness and support for the
region.  And so as I say "goodbye" to this land I love, I wanted to remind you that today is the last chance to support the cause of gulf restoration and wildlife and family support, which is all still so so very needed, with a purchase of Hands Across the Gulf.

I
got together some of my most dear and favorite artists in the community
who shared the same tug on their hearts for this disaster.
In the
works for weeks and available for nearly a month so far, Hands Across the Gulf is our heartsong for
this cause.
