Also, Crystal and I wanted to let you all know about something super fun and exciting and meaningful we have planned for next year! We have made it our goal to get people to tell their stories. Not just the super happy birthday’s or holidays, but the ones that you might not even know you have to tell. The ones hidden deep down in your heart and soul just waiting for their voice. This was part of the mission of {grow with love}. We just know that sometimes scrapping takes you away from your family and becomes a bit of a competition and we feel it is important to get back to story telling and still be taking time with the people you love. That is why we have a lot of “act” prompts. To get you out of your chair and living a bit! We also know that some people struggle a bit when it comes to sitting down and actually doing the journaling. Learning to open up and let the words flow without being forced. We have decided to start offering some different types of actual classes where we can work with you in a one on one type of setting and help teach people how to actually embrace the {grow with love} sentiment and put it into their pages. We are ironing out all the details still but we are hoping to start an early registration on Black Friday (where we will also be releasing a very special {grow with love} holiday edition as well!).

Grow With Love began with our Marriage Edition this summer and it was borne out of our love for storytelling through out scrapping. We were inspired by deep reflection of our own loves and relationships to create a series of templates and journaling prompts that we hope will inspire you to share your own stories and create beautiful pages from the heart that you will love. But more than that, we hope, through the process of scrapping and reflecting and writing, the project will have a more tangible effect in our real lives.

This version is (obviously, right? lol) about our children. And parenthood. We are SO excited to share it with you all!

As before Crystal and I will working these prompts with you and expounding on them, diving in a little deeper, giving a few more examples on our blogs. twice a week. We hope that you will feel inspired and we hope that we will be doing “more” than scrapping together…we hope that we will be growing together. we will be working through the project with you all on our blogs. Well I'm completely out of my gourd with debut and DSD excitement. It feels like ages since I've been able to share in your art and stories and I'm feeling as inspired as ever by the holiday season, the scrapping season, and new adventures. I hope you are too!

Inspired by all things autumny and layery and warm, this is the latest in my series of templates that are a bit richer in layers and details. They can be modified to suit any style or page and I so hope you like them!

SO….the cat is out of the bag. Or the frog, as it were. I’m so happy to announce that my new home, my beautiful, inspiring, fun fun fun, storytelling and scrapping, full-to-the-brim-with-talent, home is: The Lilypad! How it’s possible is still beyond me, but I’m humbled and grateful and SO gooped up on the gop.

Thank you everyone for your support and warm wishes and all the guesses!! It was so fun to read through all of the posts! Some of you are super sleuthy and were spot on with your froggy guesses — 14 of you to be exact. Of those 14 who guessed The Lilypad, I want to say congratulations to these two, who have won any 3 products of their choice (except collabs).

{free seeds} home is where the heart is

Six weeks ago I was feeling reflective and nostalgic for the beach, tearfully saying goodbyes as we headed West to our new home here in the desert. And now, here we are, finally settled in and starting to venture back into normalcy again. At the same time, we are focusing on doing all the things that make a house a home: decorating, meeting new friends, continuing traditions and soaking up lots of family time. As I was feeling a little pang for “home” in Florida the other day, I was reminded afresh how “home” really (and truly) is where your heart is. And it is what we make of it. Love, and home, as it were, begins and ends with family. And so, I find myself feeling blessed to be home.

Speaking of “home”…I am so grateful for my time at After Five Designs and the opportunity to have worked with the women and talent there, but I have some really exciting news I can’t wait to share with you. As of Friday 5 November, I will be “repotting” Zinnias and Swallowtails — settling in and planting roots at a new “home”…my creative home.
