a {grow with love} creative call

Floating by with a spot of special storyteller news on this fine Friday.  Crystal and I are hoping to assemble a small team of digital and/or paper scrappers exclusively for our Grow With Love projects and releases.  We are looking for individuals who value scrapping their stories as much as we do, who love to journal, or who want to grow in their journaling with us.  And so…a {call}.

specifically we are looking for digital or paper scrapbook artists that:

  • consider themselves storytellers and enjoy journaling
  • can work with a deadline
  • are active in the community or social media/blogging

our Grow With Love team requirements are:

  • work with each new Grow With Love series prior to release (you will typically have access to new products at least one week in advance)
  • upload to your page(s) to your favorite gallery and /or social media

if you are inspired to plant your story with us please submit:

  • three layouts that showcase your storytelling
  • a link to your favorite gallery
  • a list of your current CT commitments
  • a short bio about yourself

If this sounds like something you’re interested in please feel free to submit inquiries to creativecall@plantyourstory.com by 5 February 2011. We will respond to every email we get to confirm receipt.

Can’t wait to hear from you!! ♥

{re-worked} and {re-energized}

Happy Wednesday!

SO.  In recent weeks, life happened.  With general busyness of the holidays came a huge heaping helping of illnesses and a goodbye that had me reeling.  Busy seemed manageable.  Busy + Yick + Sad wasn’t.  And Grow With Love got lost in the shuffle a little bit, unfortunately.  You’re probably wanting to gift me with the title “Captain Obvious” right about now, since (duhhh lady) there have been no updated postings of prompts and inspiration recently.  Crystal and I are sorry for having fallen behind in things and we are so very grateful for your patience and your understanding.  And I am so grateful for all the well wishes and prayers of support.  They have meant so much to me and have really uplifted me.

We are hoping this little break has been rejuvenating creatively speaking and that you’re all feeling ready to dive back in to the project with us.  We can’t wait to continue to grow with love with you all as we finish up Grow With Love: Kids.  Before that, over the next couple days, I will be posting the final two days of prompts for Grow With Love: Holiday.  Annnnd…we have a little something fresh coming, beginning this weekend and throughout the year.

Here is the revamped schedule for Grow With Love: Kids for the remaining prompts…

The last post we worked was for Day Thirteen.  And so we will pick up again with…

Week Seven: Monday 17 January (Day Fourteen. Sara) and Thursday 20 January (Day Fifteen. Crystal)

Week Eight: Monday 23 January (Day Sixteen. Sara) and Thursday 27 January (Day Seveteen. Crystal)

Week Nine: Monday 30 January (Day Eighteen. Sara) and Thursday 3 February (Day Nineteen. Crystal)

Week Ten: Monday 7 February (Day Twenty. Sara)

So..we so hope you’ll join us.  And feel free to revisit the first 13 Days of the project {HERE}.  There is still plenty of time to join in, if you haven’t already.  And if you’re brand new to Grow With Love, welcome! We feel so deeply about our hopes for Grow With Love that while we are digital scrapbooking template designers, we hope that anyone and everyone who wants to play along does…be it paper scrapping, digiscrapping, with the templates, or without.  Let your creativity guide you along the way, using any products and any medium.  In the end it is our hope that you will have created a series of pages (that can become an album) that you will have poured your hearts into and that you will be proud of.  Whether you’ll be using the templates (you can snag them here and here) or not, we hope that you’ll be inspired to share your heart and stories and delve in to new creative territory along side us!

And remember, ultimately this is a scrap at your own pace adventure.  These prompts will be available on our blogs indefinitely so dive in and share whenever you’re inspired!  We can’t wait!

25 Days of Christmas

So as you’ve likely heard by now Leora Sanford is hosting an amazing 25 Days of Christmas event on her blog wherein she showcases an astounding array of talented artists from across the Interwebs ranging from digital scrapbooking to handcrafted art to photography.  Each day she features a fresh artist and showers you with free goodness.  It’s pretty much an event made of awesome.

I am so thrilled and SO honored to be sponsoring {Day 10} of the 25 Days of Christmas.

I fell in love with Leora’s work as a scrapper (and if you aren’t yet familiar, I just know you’ll feel the same when you see her designs).  When she invited me to be a part of her Creative Team it was one of those “this feels like Christmas” moments.  She brings the magic in her creativity and my pages have always been the better for it…

SO….the cat is out of the bag.  Or the frog, as it were.  I’m so happy to announce that my new home, my beautiful, inspiring, fun fun fun, storytelling and scrapping, full-to-the-brim-with-talent, home is: The Lilypad!  How it’s possible is still beyond me, but I’m humbled and grateful and SO gooped up on the gop.

Thank you everyone for your support and warm wishes and all the guesses!!  It was so fun to read through all of the posts!  Some of you are super sleuthy and were spot on with your froggy guesses — 14 of you to be exact.  Of those 14 who guessed The Lilypad, I want to say congratulations to these two, who have won any 3 products of their choice (except collabs).

Lisa (dlhoffer) and Davita

Congratulations!! Please send me an email at zinniasandswallowtailsATgmailDOTcom and we will get you set up for some superfun shopping on Saturday.

Thank you so much everyone for playing along!  More than that, thanks for all the support!  I can’t wait to share everything that is on the horizon.  It all starts today with my BYOC templates and really gets fun tomorrow for DSD.  Woot!

{free seeds} home is where the heart is

Six weeks ago I was feeling reflective and nostalgic for the beach, tearfully saying goodbyes as we headed West to our new home here in the desert.  And now, here we are, finally settled in and starting to venture back into normalcy again.  At the same time, we are focusing on doing all the things that make a house a home: decorating, meeting new friends, continuing traditions and soaking up lots of family time.  As I was feeling a little pang for “home” in Florida the other day, I was reminded afresh how “home” really (and truly) is where your heart is.  And it is what we make of it.  Love, and home, as it were, begins and ends with family.  And so, I find myself feeling blessed to be home.

Speaking of “home”…I am so grateful for my time at After Five Designs and the opportunity to have worked with the women and talent there, but I have some really exciting news I can’t wait to share with you.  As of Friday 5 November, I will be “repotting” Zinnias and Swallowtails — settling in and planting roots at a new “home”…my creative home.

Blooming-soon115

Think you might know to where I may be “repotting”? planting roots? calling my “home”?  Post your guesses in the comments section before 10pm PST tonight.  Two lucky winners will win 3 products of their choice (except for collabs).

But wait! There’s more!  In honor of perspective and blessings and settling in to home, I hope you’ll enjoy this freebie today!

And if it strikes your fancy, feel free to snag this little wee bonus freebie too, inspired by making home where your heart is.

And this is just the beginning of the fun!  In addition to my big debut tomorrow (Friday), I have so many fabulous goodies to share with you this weekend, including several collaboration projects, a sale!, some Twitter giveaways, and a blog hop freebie (yes another one), so be sure to connect with me on Facebook and Twitter and sign up for my newsletter, if you haven’t already.

I hope that everyone has been well!  Can’t wait to see your guesses!
