Archetype

Since the start of my love story with Storytelling and Memory Keeping, I have felt a drawn to documenting the details that reveal our every day personal story lines, full of personal idiosyncrasies and nuances, backstories and the painting of personality portraits. In short, the intersection of people and circumstances and feelings and happenings that define us. My hope is that what makes us, us..will shine through in our memory keeping through our words and photographs.  That everything that is quintessentially our own will live there in our art and stories.

And it’s this heart’s hope that has been driving all of my design work and it is the foundation for my latest collection, Archetype.

An archetype is a very typical example of a certain person or thing. A prototype, the standard, if you will. The quintessential description and definition. In our personal scrapbooking we illustrate our Personal Archetypes by documenting the personalities and characters of our loved ones (and ourselves). We capture all the little details that make them quintessentially themselves.

It is the spirit of The Personal Archetypes that has inspired this fresh collection. It is perfect for documenting the everyday, creating personality portraits, or keeping memories that celebrate what makes your loved ones so special.

Meet the Archetype collection.

Fresh Seeds | Good Things

It’s that energizing time of year – that time of beginnings – when I love to set my thoughts on all my Good Things: my goals, my hopes, my joys, my blessings and give them fresh focus.

It is the spirit of that kind of intentional focus of thought and action that has inspired my latest collection of papers and elements, Good Things. Fresh and brisk colors married with deeper, cozier hues and classic element pieces with a touch of whimsy makes Good Things a versatile go-to for documenting fresh starts, setting word compasses, and choosing the Good Things.

Meet Good Things.

Digital Scrapbooking Day 2015 :: The Happenings

Happy Happy {inter} National Digital Scrapbooking Day weekend!!

It’s the usual refrain and I still love it as much and as deeply as I did when I first began scrapbooking many many moons ago.  No matter what Stories we are living and writing, the Art of Remembering them is so dear to my heart.

I so love this time of year when those of us who love to make memories and keep them, play with paper or pen, document our stories and explore our creativity get to have so much fun celebrating our love for scrapbooking and storytelling.

And so I enthusiastically exclaim many “Happy Happy”s as we Storytellers, we Memory Keepers, we Family Historians, we Documentarians and Curators, we Artists and Journalers celebrate our love for scrapbooking and storytelling.

And here is the annual Everything You Need to Know about what is happening for Sara Gleason products this weekend.  (All images are linked).

DigiScrap Parade May 2015 :: In The Garden

The DigiScrap Parade is a fun “hopping” experience for scrapbookers and storytellers wherein they can “hop” about a series of blogs to gather pieces to a coordinating collection to scrap their memories.  It is meant to be a sampling of products from wonderful designers in the community, offered quarterly.

I am happy to be a part of the May 2015 hop, “In The Garden” which features a collection rich with cheerful color, texture and garden goodies. I was inspired to create a sample of pieces rooted in the tending of our personal gardens: growing the best things in life.

For more information and for all the links to the hop, please stop by the DigiScrap Parade website.

If you’re following the Parade route from start to finish you should have arrived here from Krystal Hartley’s blog and your next stop will be Peppermint Creative.  If you get lost along the way, simply head back to the DigiScrap Parade website to view the master list and get back on track.

Here’s my contribution to In The Garden:

National Scrapbooking Day 2015 :: The Happenings

Happy Happy National Scrapbooking Day weekend!!

I find myself writing that warm and happy hello every year at the dawn of May and yet it so perfectly captures this special time that we storytellers and memory keepers celebrate.  The fun oozes out of the sides and over the top and one day becomes several and one Something To Look Forward To becomes Many.

And so I enthusiastically exclaim many “Happy Happy”s as we Storytellers, we Memory Keepers, we Family Historians, we Documentarians and Curators, we Artists and Journalers celebrate our love for scrapbooking and storytelling.
